Being the 4th July, the programme included music by George Gershwin, including his ' Rhapsody in Blue ' with solo pianist Kevin Kay Bradley, also Irving Berlin's ' Alexander's Ragtime Band' ,
but there was also a strong 'humanitarian' content.
The concert ended with the traditional Proms Finale, Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory, and, as always, there was a Retiring Collection as everyone left the Hall in support of two local charities - St John's Ambulance and St Edmund's School for Music.
